Tayseer Habib serves as the Communications and Policy Associate at ATFL, where he supports the development and execution of a communications strategy that advances ATFL’s policy goals. He is passionate about integrating Middle Eastern perspectives to inform US policy in the region.
Prior to joining ATFL, he was an Advocacy Fellow at the HALO Trust USA and has completed internships at the United Nations Development Programme in Lebanon, the Tahrir Institute for Middle East Policy, and Arab Center Washington DC. He was also an 2024-5 Emerging Expert at the Forum on the Arms Trade and a Fellow at the Security and Democracy Forum.
Tayseer was born and raised in Houston, Texas, by Lebanese immigrant parents. His mother is a survivor of the siege of Tel al-Zaatar during the Lebanese civil war, and his father managed the work of Lebanese musician and UNESCO Artist for Peace Marcel Khalifé for three decades. Their experiences instilled in Tayseer a deep commitment to human rights and a strong appreciation for Lebanese culture.
Tayseer holds an M.A. in International Relations from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a B.A. in International Relations & Global Studies and in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Texas at Austin.
