The American Task Force on Lebanon applauds recent actions by US allies in the Gulf that complement current US policy toward Lebanon.

On September 10, the Terrorist Financing Targeting Center (TFTC), a coalition of six Gulf states and the US, announced designations against Hezbollah’s gold exchange network. This follows up on the center’s June 30 announcement of joint designations against 21 entities for their role in supporting Hezbollah’s financial infrastructure.

These actions complement a Joint Statement by the US and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on June 25, where Gulf ministers expressed their support for the US-mediated negotiations between Lebanon and Israel and for the Lebanese state to have a monopoly on force through the Lebanese Armed Forces.

“These actions by US allies in the Gulf reflect a coordinated strategy to support recovery, peace, and stability in Lebanon and the broader region,” said ATFL President Ed Gabriel. “These actions provide an important show of confidence for the Lebanese government in its efforts to reclaim state sovereignty and strengthen regional security,” he added.
