Rep. Darrell Issa (CA-48) and Rep. Darin LaHood (IL-16) introduced the Lebanon Election Integrity and Diaspora Voting Protection Act of 2026. The bill authorizes the President to “impose sanctions with respect to any foreign person or entity that hinders, obstructs or delays Lebanon’s electoral process, including efforts to restrict or prevent Lebanese citizens abroad from voting in parliamentary elections, and for other purposes.”

ATFL is proud to endorse the Lebanon Election Integrity and Diaspora Voting Protection Act of 2026. Lebanon must continue in the positive trajectory it undertook in 2018 and 2022 by allowing full diaspora absentee voting. ATFL thanks Reps. Darrell Issa and Darin LaHood for standing with the people of Lebanon as they seek full participation in their democratic system.
